Home decor has many aspects including the stairs, don’t miss them out!!
Many factors may influence your desire to change the appearance of your staircase, giving it a brand new look and feel. The reasons for a staircase makeover are numerous, from wearing out runners to having a dull and rather bland appearance.
Your stairs will feel fresh and beautiful with a nice makeover; they will also add value to your house. We are here today to help you out with choosing the right makeover design that will fit your home and needs, so if you are having trouble making that decision, no worries.
Design in Chalk Paint
A staircase painted with chalk paint and stenciled can look very nice and be very personalized. You can go with a pretty pattern with chalk paint if you want to makeover your staircase in a way that is not too loud. Your house’s staircase won’t become the focal point, but it will enhance the environment in which it resides. Paint and a chalky finish will give it a unique custom look while preventing it from being too bright and flashy.
It is interesting to note that if you ever leave the banisters uncolored while painting a staircase, the whole setup produces a nice contrast.
The Staircase Ombre Effect
Currently, you can read about ombre in fashion magazines as an example of a progressive shading effect. Ombré is a great option if your home has short flights of stairs.
The ombre look for your staircase is a relatively simple process. First, you should paint the darkest shade of color on the staircase (be sure to choose the colors you want beforehand). After the darker shade of color is painted, gradually lighten it by adding white. To ensure success, ensure that the color mixture amount in each batch covers all the steps and coats from start to finish.
Stencil Based Tiles Look
You can probably do no better than applying paint and stencil to your stairs if you want them to have a classic and vintage appeal. Despite the fact that tiles look sophisticated, they can be very expensive and not available to the average homesteader.
Absolutely! The stairs could be covered with monochrome tiles on every step. With just some paint and stencils, you can achieve the same look as we did.
As a cautionary note, make sure you stencil every other riser if you have long staircases. The tiled look of the step may give many a feeling of vertigo because it does not define step boundaries.
The Staircase Rainbow
Color lovers and people who love vibrant decor will appreciate the rainbow pattern on your staircase. If you have children, the tranquil VIBGYOR spectrum will brighten up their world as well. Your staircase can be turned into a centerpiece of your house with bright color coding and rainbow pattern. You can also apply pastels for a mellow, mild farmhouse aesthetic if you’re going for a mellow appeal. You can also see the colors coming to life if sunlight streams in through the windows above the stairs.
Real Tile, No Paint
How about this? The livability, durability, and posh look of the tiles make them a great choice. As long as you can afford its costs, we recommend that you take the plunge.
The same tiled appearance can be achieved with chalk paint, as we mentioned earlier. In addition, it doesn’t last as long, and the paint tends to wear off quickly. Also, tiles can make an attractive staircase by creating an alternating pattern and color code for each step riser. You can also get your tiles trimmed by a professional if you want to personalize your tiled staircase even further.
Chalkboard Wall in Traditional Black and White
A traditional black and white pattern much like the tiled staircase patterns we discussed earlier. However, the chalkboard is what makes this renovation unique. Using chevron foam board templates and painter’s tape, you can create the chevron pattern for this staircase. Once you have painted, remove the tape very slowly to put the finishing touches on the painting.
Decal use
Your staircase will look much more personalized with a set of decals. Your home and personality can be complemented with decals for stair designs that reflect your love of books or games. There are countless possibilities.
You just peel and stick the decal on top of the steps, and within minutes, your unique staircase has been created. It is even possible to choose design patterns that feature cartoon characters if you have children at home. However, you must understand the instructions for how to apply a decal. You might also want to paint the riser separately.
