Gwadar is located on the shores of Arabian Sea in Balochistan, Pakistan. Historically it was part of Oman from 1783 to 1958. The government of Pakistan requested Americans to conduct the strategic survey of Gwadar in 1954 and acquired it from Oman in 1958. Earlier Gwadar was a mere fishing port. Astola Island is an uninhabited Island located in Gwadar District on Arabian Sea. It is at a distance of 39 kilometers from Pasni. The total area of the Island is approximately 7 square kilometers. Hammerhead
The hammerhead is a rocky mass located in Gwadar. It is named after hammerhead shark due to similar shape. According to the scientists, hammerhead was created by the mud volcanoes.
